Six signs of a scam
- It rushes you, or threatens to close your account
- It asks for a code, PIN, password or bank details
- It wants payment by gift card, crypto or a "small fee"
- The link doesn't go to the company's real website
- "Hi Mum, I've a new number" and a request for money
- It asks you to move money to a "safe account"
If in doubt, don't reply. Contact the company or person yourself, using a phone number you already have.
